Thrift store success

Most important thing for today is my Youngest Son's birthday, Happy Birthday D3. (All of my guys first initial is D, hence D3).

Yesterday I went to the thift stores to look for wool to recycle. I picked the perfect day, Tuesdays are discount days, I got a 25% discount on everything I bought.

I found two pendelton pieces, a skirt and a men's shirt and several other 100% wool pieces. I didn't take pictures had to get them in the washer quickly.

I also found two bargins I couldn't pass up:

Both are made out of wood.

I found the bunny plaque at the first store, it was $2.00 after the 25% discount. I need to add a new ribbon and little bouquet and it will be ready to hang.

The Rooster was $1.25 after the discount. He will go in my kitchen.

I completed the dragonfly on my rug yesterday and started the backround.

I'm not sure if I'm going to like the yellow backround. I'm going to put in some other details to see if that changes things.

Took some allegery medicine and am feeling the affects, I still get tired even with the non drowsy version. Not sure I'll get too much done today.

Til next time, Ronda

  3. I SHOULD NOT be here, I SHOULD close my eyes to any blog that makes new(to me) things like rug hooking look like fun...BUT...my middle son has a wonderful collection of vintage Pendleton shirts and it's my motherly duty to teach him to share...and to reduce clutter in his house, right?

    I love visiting you!

    1. Hi Jan, Welcome, I'm so glad you stopped by. I'm new to rug hooking bought a kit on line in December and jumped in. Found rug hooking videos on YouTube that helped too. I love to learn new things and I'm really enjoying this new craft.
