This week I've been off line because I've been battling a cold. It was a good week to be home because we had 6 inches of snow.
We only get snow here once or twice a year so I consider it a treat. My little patio was covered.
I did start Deanne Fitzpatrick's Wild with Wool class. The first assignment was to hook stars. One I had to use four different colors, that is the pastel one and I found it to be a challenge.
The second challenge was to hook a motif of 4 inches or more. I chose to do a flower:
Other than the middle of the flower and light pink highlights the flower was hooked from this material:

My golf cart turned into a snowmobile.

Tomorrow is the Wool Poppies monthly meeting, I'm hoping I feel well enough to go.
Stay well everyone.
Til next time, Ronda
That's quite the snow...looks pretty though.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon...I'm in my third week of my cold...finally starting to feel as though it will leave soon. Good thing was, I never felt sick or anything...just a lot of coughing and blowing, LOL (hope that's not tmi)
Hi Wilma, My DH "shared" his cold with me. He still has a bit of a cough. I'm doing too much coughing but totally understand about the blowing, I'm should invest in Kleenix stock.
DeleteWait, it only snows twice a year?? I was in Sequoia (both the Park and the Forest) a few years ago and have since thought many times about moving there, but assumed the winters would be at least as severe as New England. Clearly I need to do some research!
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better soon, if you don't already! Unless you need an excuse to stay bundled up and keep hooking, in which case, feel better but just cough gently now and then... ;)
Hi Quinn, Thanks. Since my DH shared his cold with me I look pitiful so he feels guilty. I'll probably be able to get away with this for another week, unless of course he reads my blog.
DeleteI don't think there are many places in California that have weather as severe as New England. I live at 2500' elevation so we only get snow during really cold storms. Higher elevations get more snow but I still don't think it's anything like New England.
If you ever get a chance to go to Nova Scotia and take one of her classes in person, don't hesitate. She is a wonderful teacher!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure that I'll ever make it to Nova Scotia so I'm very happy Deanne is offering classes on line. Next best thing to having her teach in person is having her teach via videos.
DeleteThe snow is gorgeous...looks alot like what we had last week..It's so pretty and nice when you can stay indoors and enjoy it...thanks for sharing and hope you feel better soon...also thanks for you comment on my blog.. ~sabri~
ReplyDeleteThanks for the get well wishes, I'm feeling much better today. Snow is gone but it's suppose to be 70 this week so I'll enjoy spring instead of winter.
DeleteWow Rhonda, your snow pictures are really pretty.
ReplyDeleteAre you enjoying the Wild With Wool course online?
Hope you feel better soon.
Take care
JB
Hi Julia, Thanks for the get well wishes, I'm finally starting to feel like myself.
DeleteI am enjoying the Wild with Wool class. I like the small activities she assigns and seeing how others complete them, opens my eyes to new ideas.
Beautiful snow! I hope you feel better. :O)
ReplyDeleteThanks Carol, I'm feeling much better. Snow is gone but it's going to be in the 70's this week so I'll enjoy the spring weather instead of winter.
