New frame and other accomplishments

My back is feeling better today but I'm going to baby it for a few more days. Thank you for all of your concern.

On Thursday I received my rug hooking frame from I Love Rug Hooking:

It sits in my lap and tilts and will swivel 360 degrees.

As you can see my dragonfly rug is on it. Here is a close up of my progress:

It is square, it looks wonky because of the way it is stretched on the frame.

Speaking of rug hooking I won a wonderful new pattern from Saundra of Woodland Junction.

Isn't she cute? I love the little chick peeking out from her skirt. Saundra shared how she developed this pattern on her blog. I learned what a beauty line is, I think I'm going to paint one on my face.

Today's another big rug hooking equipment day, the Bliss cutter I found on Ebay is suppose to arrive. Hummmm, new frame, cutter, pattern, no excuses not to be hooking---rug hooking that is.

Jeep=tweaked back

I have a love-hate relationship with Hubby's beloved Jeep. Right now it's mostly hate. Hubby put on some great looking wheels which required bigger tires which made the jeep taller. A taller jeep I did not need., it is an acrobatic act for me to get into it.

On Thursday I had to move the jeep, while getting in the jeep I tweaked my back. What a pain, literally. Who knew how much you used your back? Getting up once your sitting down is a process, not to mention getting dressed-socks on OMG. Doing laundry is out until Hubby is home to help me and picking things up from the floor is out of the question. I will never take my back for granted again.

Enough whining.

In other news I received my rug hooking frame and am enjoying it. I have worked on my dragonfly rug, I think it's about 3/4's of the way done. I will post pictures soon.

I also received my cute eyeglass case from Quinn's Let's Grow Your blog give away. Thanks Quinn I love it.

Hope everyone is safe, warm and healthy.

Amazing!

I received the giveaway I won from Jill at Untie the Ribbons today. I couldn't wait to see what was inside.

It was a felted bowl filled with wonderful things.

Jill stuffed it to the brim.

I can't believe how much she was able to fit in my little felted bowl, wool fabric, wool roving and wool roving. Wool, wool and more wool, what could be better?

Here is a close up of the bowl without all the goodies:

Thank you Jill, I am one happy girl.

Thrift store success

Most important thing for today is my Youngest Son's birthday, Happy Birthday D3. (All of my guys first initial is D, hence D3).

Yesterday I went to the thift stores to look for wool to recycle. I picked the perfect day, Tuesdays are discount days, I got a 25% discount on everything I bought.

I found two pendelton pieces, a skirt and a men's shirt and several other 100% wool pieces. I didn't take pictures had to get them in the washer quickly.

I also found two bargins I couldn't pass up:

Both are made out of wood.

I found the bunny plaque at the first store, it was $2.00 after the 25% discount. I need to add a new ribbon and little bouquet and it will be ready to hang.

The Rooster was $1.25 after the discount. He will go in my kitchen.

I completed the dragonfly on my rug yesterday and started the backround.

I'm not sure if I'm going to like the yellow backround. I'm going to put in some other details to see if that changes things.

Took some allegery medicine and am feeling the affects, I still get tired even with the non drowsy version. Not sure I'll get too much done today.

Pictures of projects in progress

As promised here are the pictures of my little rug projects.

My first rug hooking project:

I still have to finish the edges, but I like the way it turned out. You may notice the loops on the bottom of the sheep are taller than the others, I left them on purpose, they were my very first loops. It will be a pillow.

My next project was the little rug I started at Wool Poppies beginners class. Here is where it was the last time I posted a picture:

Here it is now:

I decided to deviate from the log cabin pattern and make it into a small "mug rug". I need to finish the edges.

Finally here is the pattern I found and figured out how to transfer it onto the primitive linen:

I love dragonfly's. This one will hang in my bathroom.

Getting the mail the next week should be fun, I've ordered a rug hooking frame, a cutter, some wool and a kit and DVD from Deanne Fitzpatrick. I also won two giveaways from the Grow Your Blog party so lot of goodies should be arriving soon.

Going thift store shopping today. Hopefully I'll find some wool skirts and other treasures.

Not celebrating

Disappointing Super Bowl results for me, Niners lost. Give me a couple days and I'll get over it.

I did accomplish several things yesterday, I took the little mug rug off the frame and steamed it, it's ready to be finished. I stitched down all the pieces on my "It's All About Me" project and....

I started a new rug hooking project. I found a pattern I liked and figured out how to transfer it to the linen. I put it on a frame cause I don't have an official rug hooking frame yet (it's suppose to be in the mail) and I started hooking it . I'll post pictures soon.

Suppose to be in the high 60's today, going to get outside and enjoy the sunshine.
